Educational Program
at SUNNY DAY CARE CENTER
We provide a nurturing, supportive approach to every child and foster development through engaging, age-appropriate activities such as:
activities that nurture children’s individual interests.
We also offer optional extracurricular classes:

We provide education in:
– Polish and English language development,
– Social and emotional growth,
– Early childhood education and life skills.
Our lessons focus on speech development, logical thinking, self-care, hygiene, and teamwork. We are a bilingual preschool, preparing children for both American and Polish schools.
We employ a team of highly qualified teachers, including a speech therapist and a behavioral therapist.
At Sunny Day Care, children feel safe, loved, and understood – the foundation for building self-confidence and healthy relationships with peers.

In our garden, there is a statue of Saint Joseph – the Protector of Children and the patron of our preschool. We believe that he keeps us safe from all harm and watches over us every day.
In addition to our preschool anthem, “Sunny Day Care Center”, created with the accompaniment of Mrs. Bogumiła Nędzki-Ściażko, we also have a special poem dedicated to Saint Joseph. The poem was written by our Director, Mrs. Krystyna Wzorek, and it is well known and joyfully recited by our preschoolers.

“Rays” Group (2–3-year-olds)
In the “Rays” group, our youngest children aged 2–3 take their very first steps in preschool. This is a time full of discoveries, new experiences, and first friendships. During daily activities, children learn independence – they try to eat on their own, drink from a cup, wash their hands, and bravely attempt to dress themselves. An important milestone is also learning to signal their physiological needs and having their first experiences with using the toilet.
They take great joy in developing language skills – toddlers begin to form short sentences, name their feelings, and ask for help. Step by step, they also start building relationships with peers – first by playing side by side, and gradually by joining in shared play.
Daily activities support their physical development – children run, climb stairs, throw balls, dance, and take part in movement games. Through art and music activities, they discover their creativity – painting, drawing, modeling, singing, and dancing. By the end of their time in the “Rays” group, children can recognize colors and shapes, point to body parts, listen attentively to short stories, and repeat simple rhymes or songs.
It is a beautiful time of first achievements, where every little “Promyczek” develops at their own pace, and we feel privileged to accompany them on this journey.

“Butterflies” Group (3–4-year-olds)
Children in the “Butterflies” group are 3 and 4 years old – a time when they become increasingly independent and eager to explore the surrounding world. Their curiosity and energy make every day full of joy and new experiences.
“Motylki” practice dressing and undressing by themselves, carefully use the toilet, and learn about hygiene – washing hands, brushing hair, and remembering to keep things tidy. Language development takes off – they can already tell short stories, answer questions, sing songs, and recite rhymes. They begin to form richer sentences and eagerly share their experiences with friends.
During group play, “Butterflies” learn cooperation, sharing toys, and taking turns. They become more skilled at recognizing and naming emotions – both their own and those of others. They also learn to solve small conflicts and build their first friendships.
This age is also a time of rapid cognitive development – children get to know numbers, practice counting small sets, and recognize colors, shapes, animals, and plants. They enjoy listening to fairy tales, legends, and stories, and thanks to their imagination, they take on different roles during pretend play.
“Butterflies” are very active – running, jumping, climbing, and dancing to music. Art and music classes nurture their creativity, imagination, and artistic sensitivity. By the end of their time in this group, each child becomes more confident, open to new challenges, and well prepared for learning in the older group.

“Sunshines” Group (4–5-year-olds)
Children in the “Sunshines” group are 4 and 5 years old, growing more independent, mature, and aware each day. This is a time of intense emotional, social, and cognitive development.
“Sunshines” can already manage their hygiene independently, dress and undress, tidy up after themselves, and are eager to help others. They gain better control over their emotions – they know how to comfort a friend, apologize, and share in collective success.
Their language skills are highly developed – they can freely talk about their experiences, create short stories, ask many questions, and try to explain the phenomena that interest them. They learn new songs, rhymes, and poems, as well as letters and numbers. Logical thinking develops strongly – they can classify objects, count items, recognize shapes and geometric figures, and are increasingly aware of time and space.
This is also when they develop readiness for reading and writing – through pre-writing exercises, drawing, coloring, and first attempts at writing letters.
“Sunshines” happily participate in group games, learning the principles of fair play, cooperation, and patience. They develop motor skills through running, jumping, sports games, and physical exercises. In art and music activities, they express themselves through dance, singing, painting, and creating works from different materials.
By the end of their time in the “Sunshines” group, children are open, brave, curious about the world, and well-prepared for pre-kindergarten (zero class) and, later, for school.
